METNA, the Merced Extension Triangle Neighborhood Association, was founded in 1999. Originally established due to the impending addition of Oceanview Village, METNA’s goal is to keep the community (bordered by Junipero Serra Boulevard, Highway 280, and Brotherhood Way) informed of all news and events regarding the neighborhood. METNA has worked with various organizations such as Cal Trans, DPW, Muni, etc on various projects to improve life for residents of the neighborhood over the years, and continues to do so. Some of these include the addition of a dog park on Alemany Boulevard, the addition of sidewalks on Brotherhood Way and Niantic, as well as the art installation on the walk to BART from St. Charles Avenue.
METNA publishes and distributes to the neighborhood residents a quarterly newsletter called The METNA News. In addition to receiving a hardcopy of the newsletter, you can now read the current newsletter (February 2016) as well as the 2015 newsletters on this website.
You can join METNA for the small cost of $20.00 per household. Membership expires at the end of December and needs to renewed for the new year. Membership helps pay for costs, including the newsletter, and gives members the right to vote for the officers of METNA. There are 3 other categories for those who wish to contribute more than the standard membership fee.
